Some of the team will be heading to sunny Croatia for Design 2016 on Monday 16th May. As well as presenting papers we will be delivering a workshop on “DESIGNING THE NEXT GENERATION OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT DASHBOARDS FOR GLOBAL ENGINEERING PROJECTS”
Drawing on the insights of the participants and organisers, we will evaluate and discuss the factors within projects that have the biggest effect on eventual performance, success and failure. We will also discuss how (and if) these vital factors are measured, monitored and understood in industry today. From this common understanding, participants will engage in a hands-on participatory design session to create prototype dashboard tools that would support and improve the management, control and performance of engineering projects; with the best designs (as voted by workshop participants) winning special prizes.
The workshop aims to:
- Deepen our understanding of the needs of industry;
- Provide directions for future research;
- Provide participants with a valuable skill set of how to apply participatory design methods for producing innovative design work; and,
- Create a network for future collaboration and longer-term engagement
If you’re attending Design 2016, we look forward to seeing you there!
